When it comes to stag and hen parties if you’re a little anxious about handing over the reins to your best men and bridesmaids, our tips will make everybody’s life easier!

Right, over to the best men and bridesmaids.

Be clear as to who the bride or groom want to invite, ensure you have all their relevant contact details and if possible offer a number of dates. There are many websites out there that let you establish people’s availability, WhichDateWorks.com being one of them.

It’s best that you decide early on if the details of the stag or hen will be kept as a surprise and remember to let all the guests know too! Think about what the bride or groom would like to actually do and be considerate of people’s budgets.

Do your best to choose a location is that is accessible to as many people as possible and get an idea of costs before informing them of any plans. Be smart, if the couple are getting married aboard then a stag do in Prague is probably a step too far.

In terms of the invitations, will they be email or paper invites? Paper invites are normally more common with the ladies! Give your guests as much notice as possible and plenty of time to respond. Include all your contact details on the invite as well as estimated costs and a cut off date for responses.

Nearer the time, check that all activities and accommodation have been booked and confirmed. Let guests know the final cost and be clear about how and when payment should be made. Give clear instructions as to where and when the group will be meeting, you will be surprised with how many people turn up late or at the wrong meeting point. Have a second meeting place in mind for those that are running late or use the ‘I didn’t get the instructions’ line and consider pre-arranged transport for during the day (that includes you gentlemen!) or having at least two taxi numbers to hand.

Hen & Stag Do Gifts

You might want to consider gifts for the hen or stag party. Not On The High Street have a good selection such as personalised chocolate bars, badges, hen bags and stag dares! One of my favourites is the hangover recovery kit bag, which you can fill with bottled water, mints and anything else that takes your fancy.
