With spring fast approaching (officially yes, but not according to the current weather!), it only seems fitting to cover spring weddings.
Colour schemes, themes & decor
Spring colours are traditionally soft shades of pink, blue and green. Some good colour combinations are baby blue and silver, pastel green and ivory or lavender and lemon if you fancy a splash of colour. If you are looking to incorporate vibrant colours then go for coral, aqua or a bright yellow. Garden, butterfly, floral or Easter themes are just some of the possibilities for you to consider.
There are a variety of ways to incorporate spring in to your choice of wedding cake. For a touch of colour go for a pastel coloured cake. If you want something a bit more subtle in colour, then consider a white cake decorated with sugar flowers. Alternatively, incorporate spring by simply adding a pastel coloured ribbon.
Birds, butterflies and flowers would not look out of place on a spring wedding invite. You could also continue with this in your choice of wedding decor. Think scattered petals, antique birdcages or butterfly place card holders. Pastel coloured vases containing seasonal flowers would make great centrepieces.
You can save on costs by choosing seasonal flowers, and you’ll find plenty to choose from at this time of the year. Think daffodils, tulips, daisies and sweet peas.
Spring weather can be somewhat unpredictable, so try and pick a versatile dress that looks good with a bolero. Duchess satin and silk georgette are ideal fabrics for spring time. There are also plenty of pastel coloured wedding dresses out there if you are in search of something a little different. If you’re not quite there but want to bring a little colour to your dress then add a vibrant sash.
When it comes to spring wedding favours, there are so many wonderful items for you to choose from. Confetti have some lovely favours available including a sweet bird house favour box or a miniature woven picnic basket which you can fill with cookies or other goodies of your choice.
Make the most of seasonal foods as part of your wedding breakfast. Not only will it help with the budget but they are the perfect accompaniment to a spring wedding. Lastly, I also have some great ideas for summer, autumn and winter weddings.
