Wedding heirloom cushion
The pictures below illustrate one couples heirloom wedding cushion.
With this design an antique lace handkerchief pocket has been embroidered with signatures of wedding guests. The pocket can also hold mementos and keepsakes. A hand created ‘treasury tag’ includes a photo of the bride and groom on one side and wedding vows on the other.
The other side of the cushion is made with a handmade felt base. This includes lace, silk and merino wool. Dried petals from the brides bouquet have been used to create the skirt of the embroidered wedding gown. Delicate mother of pearl buttons add an elegant touch of detail to the embroidered lyrics of the bride and grooms first dance. Their wedding date has also been embroidered on to the cushion using cut glass beads.
The cushion has a beautiful finish with an edge of beautiful antique lace.
